SMC have occasionally had them on their eBay shop.
I believe Bilstein can refurb the existing ones if you have the time.

I will give him a call, I would have thought and hoped there were cheaper options than the £300 each at Rimmer Bros. not sure if someone makes an alternative damper
Some alternatives:

Yes £300 seems a bit much. You can get 4 new shocks AND springs in the form of the VHS lowering kit for £1100+vat, and that includes a few other parts that are worth replacing too: http://www.vehiclehandlingsolutions.com/road_cars.htm
The only problem I can see is that the wheels need aligning after fitting, but I think this is the route I will go down even though I don't particularly feel the need for 15mm less ride height. Mine has done 70k so would benefit from a refresh I think

Reply from VHS:
Andy,
I'm sorry but the suspension upgrade kit is sold out. We invested in a small
batch of parts and it is not cost effective (http://mail2web.com/cgi-bin/read.asp?mb=&mp=P&mps=0&lid=0&ld=-1&lp=20&mn=178&ed=0GiZ1xO7B1nNOaeQKs9%2BQ8AjgOqw%2B3h95%2BS0mTJGf BZoi11U0axAh4nwjtdHUAsGMZ9jRruHsUid%0D%0AKY51KreQk 3iATz%2FJLs3eOiVu4nE082br6YbB3Ac9gAQNGg9whuGbh%2BR w%2B6i%2BvHTXd8u6jIWGj5CP%0D%0Agczt1Rox%2FJ0%3D#) for us to get another. The
springs were the same rate, but achieved a lower ride height. What I can say
is that the dampers fitted to 260 are fully serviceable. This means that we
could arrange a rebuild with the VHS damper settings. However, the ride
height would be unchanged. We still have some uprated diff dampers to
minimize axle tramp.
Best regards,
Andy

I wonder if the club could perhaps find out what the differences were and get the bits made up ?

If you are interested I have a set of rear and front dampers that have only covered 37K. Let me know if you would like these and make an offer. I'm out of the country until the 17th Novemebr but can be reached via the club site or send a pm.
Regards,
Big Frank.
Price would be nice Frank.
