Hi,
got the black olive heater valve from Tim today. Is there anything I have to pay attention to when changing it?
Thanks
Marcus

Hi,
my valve seems already fully build together (see attached picture).

Do I have to remove the radiator cap before removing the old valve (I don't understand this point in the howto).
Ciao!
No, leave the radiator cap on, that way you will not drain the coolant.
This 'How To' may be better for you Marcus.

Ah, I understand. Thanks.
My valve came without these spacers which are shown in the howto

Is there something missing?

I'll have to check the other valves I have as they are shipped as received.
Will get back to you as soon as I know.

@Colin: If I get the 260 cool, yes of course! :) If the valve doesn't solve the heating problem it's to hot in the car. ;) May be I take the cold BGT V8 then.
Ciao!
Looking at Post #15 in this link Marcus, it looks like the spacers aren't always needed. I haven't done this upgrade myself so I can't comment accurately but I am sure someone will be along to advise with more accurate information soon.

Nich.Didn't use the spacer on mine. Plenty of space for the pipework and bolting the backplate straight to the bulkhead makes for a more secure fit. Have a look at this:-

Thanks Dave, I have added this to the How To section as well.

Wow, nice work, thanks for sharing. I will try to change the valve at the weekend.
Ciao
